My Honda 300ex bogs down and I'm assuming carb/jets need cleaned. I've taken apart small carbs but never an ATV. If I take the carb out can it be cleaned whole or does it need all taken apart to achieve this?

I always replace with new rubber parts except the vacuum piston seal.
Honda sells a gasket kit with the rubbers only; which includes a passage plug (if yours has one).
Shindy sells a kit with most of the rubbers ( no passage plug) and all the jets. So if your passage plug is good then you can get by with the Shindy kit.

Buy a rebuild kit.. Strip carb, clean thoroughly, install new parts. Be sure to clean the gas tank and install an inline fuel filter at the same time.

Treat your carb like a human brain operation, it has to be surgically clean..!
