Hello new to the forums I got a 98 recon 250 when going up hill or any incline it dies and usually haft to pull the choke to get it started back up. Cleaned carb out 2 times the outer day still doing the same there is some gas coming out of the vent line that on the bowl is that normal? going to tear down the carb again tomorrow and see if i missed anything

Welcome to the forums. Yes, sounds like you missed something. Did you remove all the jets, pilot screw, and float needle and clean them and did you blow out all the passageways in the carb body after removing them?

thanks guys going to try tearing it down again and going to pull the gas tank off to clean also

well tore it down again the carb is spotless and still doing the same any ideas

Is there a screw going into the carb bowel its self? Ive seen some that has a screw that can be loosen up so to be able to drain the carb. The screw could be loose or the o ring is cracked or split.
