There should be a mark on the crank thats viewable through a hole in the bottom case and a mark on the crank sprocket.Make sure it's topdead center o compression stroke and have the cam lobes down.Line the marks up and wala.Good luck.

I think Billy meant, a mark on the cam sprocket.

Yeah, it'll sit in the head just like you have it in the first picture. The lobes pointing down.

here is what happened i had a bad cam and when i took it out one of the ball bearings fell into the motor case so i had to tear down the topend and side covers to find the bearing which i did not find. so whay i had all this off i wanted to buy a piston and rings but i dont have the money right now.so i put it back together and now i have no compression.some one told me that the rings had to set a certain way or it would not seal correctly so i,m gonna take it apaet again and try it all over

well not sure what i,m doing wrong it fires at the plug but wont start i have the t mark lined up but maybe i,m not on the compression stroke
If you have the line above the T mark lined up with mark on the case, it has to be on the compression stroke. Then just make sure the lobes are facing down and the two _ _ (lines) on the cam gear are even with the top of the head. Then put your tensioner back in.

You don't have a bent valve or something, do you?
