I think Billy meant, a mark on the cam sprocket.There should be a mark on the crank thats viewable through a hole in the bottom case and a mark on the crank sprocket.Make sure it's topdead center o compression stroke and have the cam lobes down.Line the marks up and wala.Good luck.
If you have the line above the T mark lined up with mark on the case, it has to be on the compression stroke. Then just make sure the lobes are facing down and the two _ _ (lines) on the cam gear are even with the top of the head. Then put your tensioner back in.well not sure what i,m doing wrong it fires at the plug but wont start i have the t mark lined up but maybe i,m not on the compression stroke
