96 300ex, full hmf exhaust, jet kit, k&n filter, and amr hot coil and cdi box(just to see if they did anything). looking into what will be the next best bang for the buck modifications. port and polish? high compression piston?

yah get p&p and bore it to a 330 u have a lot of power

Jon, we have gone through this a million times. The 330 is a new jug that you bolt on, you cannot bore a 282cc motor to 330cc. There is not enough metal on the stock jug. Boring it out 3 over would add like another 6cc.

Look into getting an aftermarket cam, that will compliment you CDI box very well.

Agree^^^^Also a good Port will amaze you.

Not to mention if you decide to go with the 330 kit your case halves will have to be machined to fit the larger cylinder Sleeve. Once you do that you can't go back

It will make them run alot hotter than normal. I would maybe go with a std bore 11:1 piston kit if you do not want to bore. Just use a bead hone to crosshatch the cylinder walls and you should be good to go.

i have a 330 with a pipe and jet kit i never have heat issues

Jon, you already told us that your quad runs hot as all hell and It smokes like a chimney. A hot running motor is being robbed of tons of power.

A properly running quad does not smoke like yours does..., I'm basing everything off of what you have told us. Your quad is bored 3 over, that does not make a 330. Your dad has even said that you guys don't know for sure what is done to it.

If u look around a 330 kit is cheap. Also web cam's make some killer cams. We run a web cam with a stock 298 bore cylinder.Also a 400ex carb will bolt right on,also open up the air box.Keep the piston at 11:1 like was said. Any bigger will require race fuel and won't be as dependable. This combo will last a very long time.And will produce some major hp from a 300 cylinder. We also run 3mm over Kibble White valves and oversized springs. A P&P is a must.

no mine 330 kit was put on 3 years ago and the guy i bough it from never changed the oil but 1 once a year and yes all 4 strokes somke evan a brand new one does
