Cranks and idles great..get on it and mash gas and a skipping and popping I go, cut choke half up and its like nos button..but then it gets to sputtering again..and also, I do not see a air mixture set screw anywhere on new carb..I'm baffled**

Well this one's off the list I guess..but it's my son's 03 yamaha 400 Big bear..had to order off line aftermarket carb due to trying to put carb rebuild kit in old one and stripped head off screw down inside carb housing..

Of you cant access the fuel mix screw on the china carb drill the plug out to gain access to the screw. Then back it out 1/2 turn. I agree with Retro. The china carbs are 9 out of 10 times not worth the box theu came in. Look for a good used carb and clean that one. If you dont feel comfortable doing it let me know I'd be glad to help

Ok..thanks..one other ?..how do I get small screw that broke off from inside housing on OEM carb
You’d have to run a small drill into it, get the area around it warm/hot and then try turning it out with a screwdriver, you may get lucky using a small torx(star) screwdriver. Failing that, take it to your local machine shop and see what they can do.
I have an OEM carb with the mixture screw snapped off, pain in the butt!
