Hi everyone I have a 1986 Honda trx350 4x4 and can’t seem to figure out why the brake lights don’t work but running lights do can someone help

Roger that no brake light - it was not designed to have one. The TRX300 had a rear brake light option kit with a switch on the foot pedal.
There’s a set of brown and green leads wrapped in blue tape where the harness attaches to the frame behind the rear bumper—those leads could power another light system like a brake or reverse light but you’d need to switch it somehow.
@_Wilson_ installed a brake light switch on his front brake hydraulic system.

Correct the old school tanks DID not have brake light only twin tail lights, but..... They CAN be moded, and that single hondaline ready fit light isnt easy to locate---- if i was you, id hallor @ jeep, he did a nice mod on a a tail light, turned it into a super brake/tail light.
Goober, the reason i located those two wires is because of YOUR research not mine so all the credit goes to you! and yes .... I installed a brake banjo switch (off the top of head) i think the threads r 10mm x 1.25 thread pitch ?? (Really have my mind on other issues, MY BAD) to the front brake hydraulic brake T fitting, and on the plus side ..... It's the lowest psi activating single ported banjo switch i could find, i tried my best to locate a couple for fishes mod, NO luck, and i have no part# BUT, the it's brand name is is ether louper, or looper, moto cycle brake banjo, as i said ....... A very very low psi switch, BUT i engine brake (down shift @ low rpm and tap the front brakes for added control ) I'd toss up a pic, but ..... Well with the mess thats going on, i can't post a pic.
I'll see about tossing a pic up in my profile pictures, and the brake light ..... Is The rare hondaline brake light were made by stanly (i believe) and i think Mac may have more imformtion , cause i know he's got one haha!
