Hey guys I have an 05 350 rancher 4x4es bone stock and have had no problems until now. No big deal but my brake cable is sticking somewhat. I use the parking brake when transporting and dont know if this has weakened the return spring or I have another issue. Any help would be appreciated. The cable itself seems to move fine inside the cover but is not releasing as it should. My brake light will stay on for a few seconds unless I physically push the brake handle back forward. Didn't know if this was a common issue or not. Thanks Jeff

Have you adjusted the cable? to take up some of the slack.
I tried to adjust it up a little but when I do I can't engage my parking brake so I'm assuming the adjustment is ok. I know there is a spring at the handle and was thinking maybe it has gotten weak from leaving the parking brake on but not sure. There are two cables going to the RR axle the upper one is the one that I adjusted that tightened the cable up but like I said it was tight enough that I couldn't lock the parking brake. Is this the right one to adjust?

Its only got the one on the handle bar for the rear break. and two adjustments on the hub its self. You may have a weak spring. I haven't had that problem. There are some guys on hear that will more than likely have the answer for you.

Thanks for the info the one I adjusted was at the rear hub the upper one. I didn't try the one on the bar I guess I'll try that tomorrow. Any more help appreciated.

The one on the handle bar may take care of the problem.
I dont believe mine is made that way. I just saw the post on the brakes/suspension section by wrdabney about his foreman and the pic he has looks like mine does. I never remember seeing the screw like that I may be mistaken though. I'm going to look on a parts list for a schematic of my model. Let you know what I find out. By the way the spring is around the little reverse button to the parking brake lever.

The problem may not actually be the cable , it may be the lever on the rear drum assembly? Does the foot return ok if so then it would be the cable... I would simply pop the cable out of the lever hold it up and spray some PB Blaster into the cable let it sit for a few min and do it agian the re-assemble it and just work it back and forth that should do the trick.
