I havent ridden an ATV in 8 years. I have had crotch rockets though so Im not new to bikes. Got a great deal on this 2002 Honda 400ex. The guy I bought it from has been riding and working on atv's since he was a kid. and has his own little mechanics garage with 3 ATV's. He put a sparks clutch in it recently and its got an FMF pipe. Me and my buddy stopped over by a farm that was on the way home (Im in Dallas) and rode it down some dirt roads. It hauls ass! So much fun and runs great.

It doesnt have a tail light so I was thinking of installing one. DO they sell a whole kit for that?

You got a nice 400 there. You may be able to find a light on ebay. My 2000 400EX doesn't have one either. Welcome to the forums.

welcome to the forums....i say skip the tail light..and i say this..because the only thing they are good for..is to let your buddy thats ridding behind you at night..know where your at when he smacks into you from behind !..lol...well..it was just a thought..i couldnt pass that one up..kinda like..why do they put speedo's on the new atv's ?..this is so..when you and your buddies are sitting around the camp fire in the beer woods..you say..hey..i was doing 60 when i hit that tree !..and you know damn well..they are gonna say..no you were not !!!..your gonna holler back..and say..well..the speedo said so !!!..lmfaooooo

I guess a reflector might be good enough. If it has the connection there Ill put a light on it. If not then screw it.

it should have a connection there..most owners break them ..backing into too many trees i guess ?..lmao.

well it doesnt have reverse so you would think they didnt back into anything. I guess they could have rolled down a hilll back wards though.

A lot of people tear the taillight off by doing wheelies, but since the grab bar is still intact, my guess is someone hit it from behind with another ATV.

Quad is my most used term. Depending on model, I'll use a different slang for just about every one. I live about a mile from the PA border, and as soon as you cross over, they call them Wheelers. Just seems weird to me.
