Hey everyone,

I have a 2008 420FM FI. I picked it up at my buddy's this morning and when I got it on the truck, I noticed a hose hanging and oil all over the underneath of it. turns out that crankcase vent hose (runs from the engine to the air box) came undone. I pulled the oil dipstick out and the oil looked just like paste. Not sure how this hose came undone as I wasn't over any rough terrain. Halfway through our trip i checked the oil/airbox and it was normal/dry, so this happened sometime after this check. I ran some old oil through it and changed it ( I did this 3 times). The oil is still a bit milky, but needs to be flushed more (I ran out of old oil, need to get more haha). just wondering if I should keep doing what I'm doing, or is there some kind of additive i should try, or should the engine be taken completely apart and cleaned?? I think if I keep changing it I should be ok. Keep in mind that the bike worked fine on the last half of the trip. It's not smoking, working bad (starts right up no prob), knocking, or showing any metal shavings.

thanks

I'd take the plug wire off so it doesn't start and get some hydraulic oil and pour it in and crank it over a few times to get it circulated, also change your oil filter if the model has one? do that two or three times draining after each time. then put in some good honda oil. and ride it a bit and recheck.

This isn't a liquid cooled engine is it? if so you may have an internal coolant leak too?
