You can find 400s all day long for under 3500. The 450 is a lot of machine for someone with no experience.

I agree with Red. The 400EX would be a good choice.

the 400EX is even alot for an inexperienced rider guys and the 450 and 700 totally out of the question, my son is 15 and the 250EX is all he can handle, his riding ability is probably like yours. if you are worried about not keeping up with your friends,...Tough is your safety and lack of experience more important than a big 'ol quad? In the woods the 250 will easily keep up your not balls to the wall anyway open straights are different, if they can't be friends and hold off a bit for you then you need to find others to ride with. As a father I woould be against you getting anything larger than a 250 sorry.

A person riding a quad that is too small or too big can and will be very dangerous. Just because you ride a 525 sometimes doesn't make it safe. The kid also said he doesn't have much experience.

Very,Very much agreed. A 250 for a 15 year old with very little seat time is a good start. It will keep up with your friends on trail rides and be a whole lot safer.

Exactly, I don't think you're good enough rider to take a 525 or a 660 at race pace. Maybe in a straight line, I'm not trying to be prick but only 1 year of experience I don't feel you could hang with a fast rider on a big bike.

If you are hanging with some one who has been riding that long, he is either not riding hard or he's not an aggressive rider. I guarantee you wouldn't hang with me and my riding buddies.

If you have never rode one and dont under stand the clutch and stuff I would go with the 250EX The 300EX is a good quad also but it has a clutch. I dont know much about the 250EX's but someone said that they were capable of being both its either a manual clutch or auto clutch built into the shifter.

Yeah Moose, after rereading what he posted, I would say you're right. A 250EX would probably be a good choice or maybe a 300EX. But a 450 or bigger is just not a good ideal for any age, unless they are an experienced rider.
