Hi, I have a 2002 Fourtrax Rancher TRX350TE and I put a new battery in yesterday. I didn't notice that the terminals were backwards so I popped it in and hooked it up. Immediately after connecting there was smoking coming from the fuse box and down the wiring from the box. I checked my fuses when it was done smoking and 2 of them were melted. Not blown, melted... So I had a friend come and look at it and he said that I'm probably going to need a new fuse box, fuses, wiring, and possibly a new starting solenoid. I took the battery out, so there's no battery in it right now, but I have no clue what to do, or how much everything is going to cost. Please help, I bought this four wheeler 5 weeks ago!!!

If the fuses melted into the fuse box id replace it and the starting solenoid you could check with a multimeter to see if it's actually bad but I'd go ahead and replace it anyways since it probably fried it, it shouldn't cost to much or be a hard job just tedious. YouTube is great if you to diy replacing.

I agree
You’ll have to research and find new Or used harnesses and modules.

download the service manual and check parts links in my signature block below.
Check the part sellers for new parts—buy new from them or get those part numbers and compare them to the other models. You may find that some TE parts are shared with the FE, TM and FM—while some are not.
This will help you shop for used parts at Power Sports Nation or some fleabay parts sellers

Ok, thanks for all the help. I'm going to be taking a closer look at it on Friday and see if I can do anything. After doing some more more research, there's actually a small engine repair shop 2 miles down my road. Certified and everything. I might have him come and check it out. He does rewiring and everything.
