Do you have spark & fuel?

Is the cam sprocket installed like the service manual shows?

If its half a tooth off it would still run. So i wouldnt think that is the problem. Start with the basics. Fuel, air, and spark. Try alittle starting fluid in the intake tube and see if it fires on that. If it dosnt pull the plug and see if you got spark. The reason the timing is half a tooth off is because the timing chain is stretched mostlikely. You want to put the chain on and roll the cam back so the chain is tight toward the front of the engine. And the slack is in the rear so the tensioner can take that slack up. Also did you check the valve adjustment? Anytime you remove the valve cover you need to.
