Make sure you have enough oil in the engine and you might need to adjust your valve lash.

If a Honda ATV isn't ticking.... it isn't running right.

They have solid lifters, those are noisy...if the valves aren't a little noisy they are too tight and are likely to burn.

Also.... the decompressor often makes a little ticking noise at idle.

How long has it been doing this and how many kms since your last service?

fresh oil/filter, remember atv oil only and don’t put filter in backwards.
