Ok I'm having a brain fart here I need a Photo of how the detent cable hooks to the head. My manual shows nothing!. I was going over my quad one moer time before our weekend ride and I found that my detent cable had come un hooked from the lever, I have turned twisted and turned again with no luck . If anyone can snap a pic of both sides of the lever so I can see the cable routing I would appreciate it very much. I can't ride with this unhooked I run a risk of valve damage. Thank you guys very much!!

Ok Guys I'm repaired... not fixed but repaired. turns out I wasn't crazy after all...LOL the little tab on the back side broke off. I simply took mans best friend.. A HOSE CLAMP...lol and did a quick repair to hold me over. Thanks to billy for the pics and another member Greg who I frequently talk to, he is mailing me another decompression lever soon, so when I tear down to put the ported head on I will fix it then. again thanks to everyone.

Me too Bro, I thought I was going to be riding my sons TRX90 at Busco this weekend. Nothing like seeing a 260lb MOOSE on a tiny quad...LMAO!!

Oh definitely... all new Kibblewhit Black Diamond valves and Kibblewhite springs.

I will tell you wen my best friend rode it with the last ported head he said he wasn't scared to say it would run right with his 400EX so this time we will see. If that gives you any insight as to the power I was making?

Yeah it does pretty good. before I put the 400EX carb on We strapped a GPS to the bars and ran it about 1/4 mile I got 62mph out of it then. I don't know what it will do now with the new carb on? I thinking maybe 64 or 65?

I have another Jug I'm going to punch out to an 80 mm piston in the future and stroke the crank that will give me 350cc of screaming terror...lol

is the bbk accurate to the cc size???? with out adding stroke its just crazy to believe that some of the bbk's add so many cc's.

there is a 380/390cc bbk for my motor which is a 281. its really gonna punch it out THAT far???

to figure CCs you have to do a simple math equasion... Bore X Bore X stroke X .7854 but first you have to convert the MM size to CM which is easy just move the decimal left one number. for example using my engine... my bore is 76mm and my stroke is 57.3mm so that will be 7.6 X 7.6 X 5.73 X .7854 = 260CCs stock 250X is 246cc BBKs only increase the cylinder bore a stroker crank increases the stroke if I kept the same bore (76mm) and installed the +12.2 crank making my stroke 69.5mm my CCs would then be... 315.3CCs just by extending the crank stroke. if I add the 80mm piston I would then be at 350CCs

If you ride a 300EX or the 250X they carry the same engines. less the electric start for the 250X. the largest piston made to fit is 80mm now there is a company called East Coast ATV tha builds a 385cc 300EX engine using a 400EX piston, jug and head. but alot of mods are done to make it work.

well then, i got some number to figure out. thanks man.

from what i have seen the 300 fourtrax has more stroke than the 300ex. thats about all i know. but there is a bbk that with just a larger piston makes it out to 390cc's. so then maybe with more stroke i could maybe get 450cc????? idk.

i gotta figure out number to see what all adds up.
