Hi everyone just looking for little of your judgement i was told a couple days ago that atc were band for 10 year me not knowing that since i didn't do any history on the atc. But what im getting to is if they were only band for 10 years why didn't honda /yamaha/Suzuki no bring back the atc many people out in the world would love if they did i know for a fact that a lot of people would still buy them. Well thats my rant well all us atc lovers we can just sit here and wish they bring the atc back.

Honda banned them because of lawsuits for safety reasons, mainly from flipping over backwards was the reason they banned them. no, they will not recall them, forget that..lol. you still can buy parts for them..but your limited to very few parts..if any ?. used parts or a salvage yard is about your only option..unless you run across a NOS part on ebay ?. also, they were not banned for 10 years, they were banned 10 years ago, big difference :).

First of all Honda didn't ban them, the US Government banned the sale and manufacture of them, along with I assume other countries. Secondly, they weren't banned 10 years ago LOL, it's been 30 years or so since they were banned, 1988 IIRC, and the ban expired in 1998, so 10 years. I would say the US had the biggest market for them, so there wasn't much point in making them after that, I'm not sure if other countries like Canada or the UK banned them as well or what happened there. But, 4 wheel ATV's took their place and even by the time the ban had was put in place 3 wheeled ATV's were pretty much a way of the past anyway, with the introduction of 4wd ATV's in 1986 that's where the market was heading. They could at any time build new 3 wheeled ATV's but I doubt it will ever happen, only the die hard ATC guys would buy them, not many people these days even want 250-350cc 4 wheeled ATV's let alone a 2wd trike. Even the sport quads now are a dying breed....unfortunately for our sport it seems that SxS's are the way of the future now, which seems to bring out a lot of people that have no business behind the wheel of an offroad vehicle lol

The UK government banned them in the same year as the USA, there were a few companies specialising in converting the 3 wheelers that were already in dealerships here just so they could be sold off legally. I had one of the conversions in the form of a trx125, very similar but not quite the same, you get the idea. There were options on conversions so I’m assuming every one may have been different. Not many left here now, nobody wants them apart from the collectors, plus they’re 2wd... 2wd models have never sold very well over here due to all of the wet weather we get!!

The SxS market hasn’t taken off here yet, they just cost far to much for a toy plus we don’t have the land to use them.
I’d say 90% sold are for business use rather than pleasure.

You guys get all the best toys! Lol

Right.... When the ban took place, the dealers were told to cut the frames of ones they hadnt sold (USA) or risk losing their franchise. You cant even import a '3 wheeler' into Canada from the USA as a unit, you basically have to tear it apart a little & says its parts ;)
