So I recently picked up an 83 200e and its getting a new pair of rear tires. I've narrowed down my choices to 4 options but im open to any suggestions. My main concern is actually tire weight. Does anyone know how much is too much for an old 200?

Any tire in stock size will be very close in weight..
Weight increases with diameter usually, avoid large mud tires and you won't go far wrong.

I'm planning to stay around stock size, leaning towards more aggressive tread patterns. I'm concerned about tire weight because ive read other tire posts where it sounds like weight is frequently an overlooked factor. Theres a difference of ten pounds between 2 of my potential choices

I’ve never considered tire weight but good question 10 lbs each? ahh 20 lbs won’t keep ya from having fun with it

Are the heavier tires steel belted?

I didnt see anything about any being steel belted. I dont think they make steel belted atv tires anymore. But the more plys the higher the weight seems to be the case. The lightest ones I was looking at are itp mudlites at around 20lbs/tire on the other end is interco vampires at about 30lbs/tire

Don't rule out bear claws, tread depth isn't the greatest but they're a damn good all rounder for sure.

The tires I am considering are

Itp mudlite 25x12x9
20/32 tread depth 20.50lbs/tire

Kenda bearclaw 25x12.5x9
26/32 tread depth 30.50lbs/tire

Ams swamp fox 25x12x9
20/32 tread depth 26.55lbs/tire

Duro excavator 25x12x9
20/32 tread depth 16.50lbs/tire

Maxxis zilla 25x11x9
24/32 tread depth 21.05 lbs/tire

Interco ss vampire 25x13x9
43/32 tread depth 30lbs/tire

Really leaning toward the zillas or the vampires. Anyone have any thoughts?

I like bearclaws had friends that ran them. Performed excellent. So I haven't ruled them out
