Greetings

Got here via a google search while working on my TRX420, looking for help for my 08 Rancher, I posted a thread in the technical section, but thought I should do an Intro.

I grew up on 3 wheelers ( old no suspension trikes ), bought a ATC250R new in 87 ( left over 86 ) that thing was a blast, bought a 87 ATC250SX new ( farm use ), an FL350 new back in the late 80s ( Odyssey ), own a TR200 FATCAT right now, 2 Pilots, a 2005 CRF230, and a 2013 CRF450R.

Yes, I have a thing for Hondas, I also recently unloaded my XL600 for the 450R.

Looking right now for a new Rubicon that is loaded, hoping to find a good deal on a 2017.

Thats my Honda back ground ! Otherwise, I play on a farm for a living, more or less, and love playing with anything that is moved by gas or diesel.

'Knuckles , welcome , see you got a Fat Cat , how's about a pic , I got a 1974 XL250 Fat Cat project
Had to go take some, apparently I didnt have pics of it, anyhow its sitting at the front of the shop, awaiting a couple more parts for a complete " make over " not quite a full restoration, more of a cosmetic restoration. Bike functions well, but its time for brakes and tires, so Im digging in and going over it. Looking for a second unit, have looked at several in the last several years, but either they are a piece o crap, hacked beyond belief, or grossly over priced ( like 3.5+5k ). I just watched one sell on ebay in Arkansas, I just dont have time for the road trip, or I would have bought it, a nice original sold for 2.5k.

Be interested in seeing what a XL250 fat cat looks like, have you got a build thread running on it ? I saw on you tube, I think a guy in Orygun built a fat cat out of a CRF450 ? Looked like a hoot to play on.

Your Fat Cat is very clean , I think finding one now days is pretty rare ----- here is a pic of mine
Thanks, its not nearly as clean in person, Ive got new plastics, new stickers, new seat, its getting paint, levers, cables, tires, and a bunch of nick nacks.

The girl friend enjoys riding it, so I dont want to take it to the frame, for fear it would be apart forever.

I dig your 250, Im guessing you did some fabricating to make all that happen ? I wish had that kind of time to build stuff.

I done a few mods on the wheel bearings , rims, speedometer sender mounting , air fill stems and extension hoses , and a few other things , but the triple tree and swing arm is a kit from a company called Missile Engineering , it was already installed back in the 70's and found in a barn here in Lacombe , I stripped out the output shaft , got another brand new shaft but have to split the case to install it and have never got around to it , yet , I found and installed the tail light and blinkers and plan is to make it street legal again so I can ride the back roads and be able to jump off into the trails
