I just bought a 2005 Recon and the guy has 25" tires all around. Looks good but he took off the lower plastics to get them to fit (and didn't still have them). I want to put the lowers on but before I spend money and order them and find they won't fit, thought I'd ask. It looks like they would probably hit the back of the footplate area. I imagine a lift kit might work but I really didn't want to lift it as the kids ride it more than I do.
Thanks for the help!

I've got 24" mudlites on me sons Recon with a 2" lift, they just do clear the plastic on the rear tires. Did kill the power a little though and if your going to lift and stay with that tire size I would recomend putting a 1" wheel spacer on all 4 corners. 25 will work but you might have to trim a little off the plastic in front of the rear tire.

I just put 25" tires on the rear and 23.5" on the front to give me more of a softer ride. I just put around the desert with my wife and dog (yes I over load the thing). The rear hits the lowers just a little when weighted down. Over a little time, the tires will wear out the lowers as needed. I could trim off 1/4" and solve the problem today. I would spend the money and get the lowers. Good luck.

time to get out a sawzall and trim the fenders just enuf to clear. maby buy used if your afraid your gona take to much or mess em up . I agree with widening the tires a lil if your kids are always on it and lift it 2".
I fit 27'' ITP 589'S ON 12" SS 108 wheels on my rancher cus i have a 2'' super atv lift on it and they clear perfect with not cuting the fenders< even clears my 2500 lb winch motor up front at full turn.

I have a 2006 recon with a 2 inch lift with 25" super swamper vampires on the back and 24" mudsharks on the front. the lift truly deoesn't affect the handleing of the bike. The back tires fit but they rubbed the outer edge of the plastics so i trimmed them about an inch and it is perfect now
