2000 Honda Rancher ES, pulled off the front crankcase cover to see what I was working with. Found a shift lever had sheared a little (PN: 22810-HM7-700) AND found the Return Spring Pin (PN: 24652-KY4-900) that aligns the gearshift plate had snapped into the crankcase. If you google that Part number in the parenthesis for the Return Spring Pin, the threads that go into the crankcase had snapped. I'm just here to ask for some advice.
What I've thought of so far:
1: Getting Left Handed drill bits, and hoping it will "bite" the bolt and reverse it out
2: Since the block is aluminum and the bolt isn't, I could Tack weld onto the bolt, letting it cool, tack welding that weld and letting it cool and so on, so I build a little "tower" to then weld a nut and back it out.
3: Plain ol' drilling it out, but the material falling into the case makes me nervous.
