How hard were you riding when it quit? I mean were you cramping it pretty good winding the gears or just putzing along? sounds like a timing issue or valve train

Did you maybe hit a kill switch? The timing chain could have broke or skipped a tooth (usually only skips a tooth when is is stretched out. Does it even have a timing chain? I would think it would have timing gears).

Sounds like it's time for a bigbore kit. LOL is it still under warranty? if so let the dealer fix it it's only a year old.

I hate it when mine does this. It gets so hot or something and I have to wait awhile to start it again. But your problem sounds worse.....I'm not sure.

Hard hot start is in the carb adjustments

you need 4 things to make any gas engine run. fuel, spark, compression, and correct timing. you say you have the first 2 now its time to check the other 2. timing may not be adjustable on your machine and might be preset. I agree with the 2 previous posts, check your compression - you may have some valve train issues.

I third the compression check.. but also if yours is a kickstart you might want to check the de-compression lever cable adjustment if is too slack it will also cause a hard start.
