Advice on a used 2013 Rancher

I'm looking at a used 2013 Rancher 4x4. Pics look new and owner said they barely used it and probably only put 3 tanks of gas through it. If this is the case, then it has spent a lot of time not being used which gives me a little concern since I am under the impression it isn't really good to let these sit for long periods of time. He is asking $5100. What do y'all think? Do my concerns about it sitting too long have merit, and is the price fair?

Yikes. That's super high for even a new machine.

Dealers around here had new 420 footshifts for $4399 last year. I don't think they're much higher than that now.

If I were getting a 420 I would look for an 07-13. The newer ones have the same engine but are in a bigger frame. The only benefit of the later ones is a better rear end.

You could get an old body style 420 and swap in a later rear end to get the fully tubed design, or you could just buy a Foreman and call it a day. LOL

That $4399 is most likely the 2WD.I paid $4299 for my 2WD 2017.The 4x4's are thousand plus more.

No it was the FM, which is 4x4. I had an 08 420 FM for sale at about the same time and seeing them that cheap new put a dent in my ego on my asking price.

Might have been end of the model year sale, but they had new ones for $4399 a year or two ago.

$5K plus for a used 6 year old Rancher is going full retard.
Don't remember if it was Honda of Forrest City, Honda of Russleville, or Honda of Searcy (Sunrise). I follow all 3 on bootface.

I rebuilt that 08 down to the crank for my brother in law, who found out he was expecting a kid while I was doing the build, so he couldn't afford to buy it.

I figured it was a $2800-3K bike easily, and then saw new FM's for $4399. I ended up getting $2250 for it, which was about $250 less than I had in it after a new rear end, new engine, etc. I would have been better off parting it out.

I got my 09 Foreman 500 new for $4999 OTD at Honda of Forrest City. They gouge you horribly on parts and service but from time to time they have good sales when they need to move inventory.
