Are you sure that something on the bike isnt causing the battery to go dead? If you have a amp meter you can check to see if there is a parasitic draw thats killing the battery.

Anything you have a winch with a wireless remote?

I'll give you the history on this 1999 Honda 300 Fourtrax 4wheeler. I bought it approximately 5 years ago and have had no issues with it At all except for flat tires. Battery finally went bad 3 months ago. Always said I was going to replace the battery with whatever was in it because it had lasted so long. Took it out of 4wheeler and it was an everstart max from Wal-Mart but when went to walmart they didn't have one so I just went to Advance Auto and they had a match for 125 dollars. Wow! So I got it and after 2 months with it it went dead. Took it back to Advance and they checked it out and said it was a bad battery. Got a new one and put it in and in a couple weeks is when I had the issue with the 2 fuses that had blown and you suggested me to check for them bout a week ago. Put new fuses in and works fine for a few days. Battery dead again but can still kick start and runs fine. Check fuses and they ok. 15 amp fuses, same that came out of it. Took out of 4wheeler and took to Advance and they charged it and said it is ok. Put back in 4wheeler yesterday and haven't checked on it today. When putting battery back in 4wheeler I hooked up ground first and hooked positive side next checking to see if I could make an ark with the switch off and no arc. Turn switch on and it makes an arc. Turn off switch and finished hooking up battery. Everything fine for now as of yesterday.

Put a meter on it and see if there is any output when it is running, should be slightly higher voltage than the battery.

A TRX300 will kick start and run with a bad battery, but this will eventually cook the stator. My bet is the rectifier/regulator is not connected well or it’s toast. There might also be a loose wire somewhere i have an 00 450S that will drain the battery if the light switch left in ON position

1999 Honda 300 Fourtrax is what I'm working on. Bought me a new digital meter in town this morning so these readings should be accurate. After Advance Auto put a full charge on my battery yesterday I only started it up to make sure it would run. After sitting until 11:30 am this morning I took these readings. 11.71 volts before starting 4wheeler. 12.73 volts after starting 4wheeler while running with no lights on. 12.46 volts with 4wheeler running with lights on. 12.10 volts after this test and not running. Are these close to normal readings?

Yes they look to be in the ball park, except for the initial battery voltage of 11.71. You may have some parasitic drain. Charge the battery and disconnect overnight from the machine and see what it reads. If it reads down disconnected, you have a cell going in your battery. If it stays up above 12.2-4V, you have something draining the battery. You will have to start disconnecting circuits until you find which one it is.

Those numbers are not correct. When running it should be at 14 volts or more. Your regulator took a dump. Replace it they are about 20 bucks
