Hey guys, I was looking to add a small cooling fan to my Recon 250. It's old, about 2005 if that matters. Anyhow, I use it mainly for chores: dragging a trail mower, dethaching the grass, aerating, stuff like that. Anyhow, when I do those things, I have to go pretty slow for long periods of time, often 3-4 hours. The engine gets hot as hell because it's not getting much airflow.
To cool things down a bit and increase airflow, I'm putting a small (like 3in diameter) fan right on the oil cooler with a manual switch so I can turn it on/off as needed. I'm just worried that the power draw will kill the battery. The fan I have laying around is a high flow, 1amp fan. Is that too much draw on the 250's alternator, or does the running engine make enough juice to feed the fan?
