Hi guys I have a 07 420, first off what is the the black plastic dial for on the right side and second I think it has power stearing but it feels like every once in a while it cuts out and becomes hard to steer and bumpy. I just got it last week and it did not have an owners manual. thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum. I don't think the 07 has power steering. I believe 2009 was the first year for Electric Power Steering. Someone will jump in soon with more info.

Welcome to the forums. I agree with Mark. I'm pretty sure the Rancher didn't come out with power steering until the 2009 model. Are you sure it's not a 2009?

Check the VIN and find the year, then you can download a manual for it from tradebit.com for $5.

Post a picture of the black dial so we can see it.

i think they are rite about the powersteering, and the black dial you speak of, if its the one im thinking of, is the fuel shut off. There should be three settings, on-off-reserve.....mainly for when you are hauling your quad on a trailer.....if its not the dial you speak of then......DISREGARD

Also could be the reverse knob? Is it on the front right fender?

He did say the knob was on the right, fuel shut off is usually on the left.

I have 07 420 Rancher also..... no not power steering and the fuel shut off is on the right side of this bike.

I wasn't aware of that either. I've seen plenty of them and even rode them, but I've never even noticed the gas cut off was on the right side.

the dial on the right is the gas cut-off. My reverse is by manual foot shifter.

ok.. just went to the garage and double checked. The knob on right side is the fuel shut off and reserve. This is on 2007 420 Honda Rncher.
