ok so it will start but only by using the kick start, about 3 months ago i pushed the start button and just heard a click under the seat so i took the seat off and pushed the start button again and the click was coming from the solenoid so i took it off and ran down to our local honda shop to have the solenoid tested and it was working fine. so i put it back on. later i found that if i just pushed the kick starter down about half way and let it go that i could then use the push button starter so i've been been doing that for some time now untill today now its kickstart or nothing. i guess my big question is could it be the starter?

Yeah, sounds like your starter is bad, unless your battery is bad. To be sure, get some jumper cables and hook one end to a known good battery. Hook the ground of the other end to the starter casing or the engine. Touch the hot clamp to the post on the starter. If the starter doesn't turn, it's bad. I like to hook the jumper cables to a good battery in an automobile that starts. That way, if the starter doesn't turn, I know the problem is the starter and not the battery.
