Hello out there. Needing some help with a 97 honda 300 TRX FW
I was given the bike for my son and it had a blown out cdi box. I replaced the box with a new one. The bike cranks and idles like a new one but you touch the throttle and it bangs like it's hitting a Rev limiter? Anyone ever had this problem or maybe some suggestions?

I'd be tempted to send that cdi back to the manufacturers and get your money back if you can. As Cman said above, OEM is the way forward with certain things or, alternatively you can buy a known 'good' brand such as 'Ricks electrics'.

Yeah unfortunately with electrical and carbs you can't afford to buy the cheaper variants (china knock off), other parts do the job to a certain degree but still don't last very long.

Try 'Ricks Motorsport Elecrics' he's cheaper than OEM and still a reputable brand.
