been working on a 97 trx 300 ex. Pulled clutch cover to change timing chain. That went good.

Noticed that the dowel was missing that goes into top right side of pump. Theres a oring that goes round it.. Its missing now..

Do i have to have this dowel & oring in place ?

Or can i put it together without it??

Welcome to the forums. I'm not sure which dowel and o-ring that you're speaking of, but I'm pretty sure that if it has an o-ring on it, then you would need it. The o-ring is probably there to keep oil from leaking past it and without it, you may loose oil pressure. I would replace it just to be safe.
