Incredible Job Shadetree! From diamond in the very rough to a sparkling gem in such a short time! Your project is inspiration for me to one day restore my 1994 TRX300FW to its original grandeur as you did. If I ever decide to do it you will be hearing from me. Enjoy the hell out of this machine and Good Luck.

and to give everyone a run down on what all i did to it..parts wise that had to be replaced..here's a list, all brand new. timming chain, grips, complete engine gasket kit, oil seals, rings, cargo swing arm rubber hold downs, spark plug, brake shoes for front and rear, and a brand new LED light bulb for the tail light, now..as for used but alot better part. one used crank ( the threads were stripped from the centifugal clutch ). thats about it..well..that..and about 2 weeks and probally around 200 hours total.

Dang, So I'm in the middle of a very very similar project on a 90' model. I decide to see if anyone else is fixing up these old legendary machines and what do I find? This thread and a couple others like it. Very cool, I'll have to post up some before and after pics when It's all done, Mine's southern blue though. Gonna be sweet, new plastics and everything. Motor's on my bench right now getting refreshed. Frame's sanded and ready for now shiny spray.

welcome to the forums farmy, you got a nice atv to restore, if you get stumped on anything..holler at me..or anyone else on here..be more than happy to answer any questions you may run across. i baught this project from a member on here..the motor was completely torn apart..i know you've heard of basket cases..well..mine was a cardboard case..lol. this is was my first trx300 to completely restore from the ground up..engine and all..my '89 trx350d foreman was alottttttttt worse than this project when i brought it home, she in my avatar pic now. been doing restoring on atv's, atc's for 14 yrs..i'm addicted to restoring them...lol. my last project before this one was a 2000 trx350tm rancher..had a bent connecting rod..completely striped the motor..went through it with a fine tooth comb..all new timming chain, valves, piston, rings, gasket kit, oil seals..everything that needed it..lol..and it turned out very nice. be careful how you put the tranny gears back together..lol..i had a problem with them in this project..service manual shows them one way in the picture, but it didnt show them up close, sooo..watch veryyyyyyy carefully how you put them back together...other than that..it's a walk in the park.
