When I blip the throttle on my '96 TRX300 Fourtrax, there's a brief rattling sound coming from under the clutch side cover. I pulled the cover to check the cam chain, which appears to be ok and the centrifical clutch shoes which appear to be ok. I measured one of the clutch shoes and it is within spec. The sound only happens when I blip the throttle while the engine is idling. Otherwise there are no sounds after I get the four wheeler under motion and into higher rpms. Any ideas?

it being a 1996 ?, my money says either the cam chain is bad ?, or your valves need adjusting ?. vey well can be a worn crank to wrist pin !. ( wrist pin hole on top of crank worn out ).
