Hey guys , i just bought my first ATV , 96 honda fourtrax 300. I bought it off of a guy and took it home , went for a rip on it and then left it at my buddys place. I turned off the fuel when i shut it down , the next day my buddy had it started un till the fuel ran out , he didn't turn the fuel back on. He turned on the fuel and it wouldn't start after that , and he killed my battery. I charged the battery and found that the starter is rolling over the crank. I tested the spark plug and its got spark , but it still wount start. It has new gas and about half of a tank. I dont think its getting fuel. Air filter is fine. It just keeps rolling over . I'm not very educated on carburators and think that might be my problem. There was what looked like a primer on the side of the carb , gave her a few pumps and still no start. I'm stumped! Any help would be great!

Welcome to the forums. Do you have the vent valve on the gas cap in the "on" position? Take the spark plug out and pour about a teaspoon of gas into the cylinder. Quickly, put the spark plug back in, so the gas doesn't evaporate. Now put the plug wire back on and see if it will start. It should start and run for a couple seconds, anyway. If it does, then your carb must be stopped up.

Make sure you have the kill switch in the "run" position. Also, you might want to pull the gas hose off the cut off valve and see if gas flows out.
