Bought new race-driven 520X86L non o ring chain with 12T front and 36T rear sprockets...got it all put together on bike and chain has like 2 inch sag...any ideas on what to do to make up the slack..I loosened the slack adjuster on rear axle and turn it only to make slack even more..I'm baffled
Is that stock gearing? If not you may have to take a link out. Best way i have found is a bench grinder. Grind the end of the pin until the plates can be removed. Then put your master link in.
12 being 1 tooth lower then stock is equivalent to 5 teeth on the rear. You will get a noticable gain it torque. But lose topend. Which IMO is where the 300ex really struggles is topend already. Then you went 2 more teeth down on the rear which counteracts some of the front gear change. So it may be really good in the long run. I gave up on my 300ex when i did a 330, stage 2 web cam, and full pipe. P&P on the head with a 11:1 piston and i got walked by my buddies bone stock 400ex. Its like 2 entirely different worlds.
