96 300ex chain problem

Bought new race-driven 520X86L non o ring chain with 12T front and 36T rear sprockets...got it all put together on bike and chain has like 2 inch sag...any ideas on what to do to make up the slack..I loosened the slack adjuster on rear axle and turn it only to make slack even more..I'm baffled

Stock is 13/38...could I go up bigger size sprocket in back to make up the difference in slack

Ok..thanks man..1 less link it is..lol..got a new chain breaker and been itching to try it out..

Ohh..One more ? if don't mind..did I make a good choice with 12/36 gears or should I have went with different size selection.
