glad you found out most of the problems..lol..but..i would like to add..seeing how we didnt get that far into the nosie..we would have told you to tear the motor top end off..and inspect the top end..but..anyway..glad you caught it now..otherwise..you would be putting it on craigslist..because your motor would have seized..and then gone..lol..anyway..good catch..glad you caught it now.

haha yeah, the motor is a '96 bottom end with a '94 top end, but nobody checked the oil pump..witch we believe is what was causing the trouble..were gonna fix it with OEM parts since there cheaper, and i want to save for a 00+ 400ex in a few years

while you got the side cover off..and replacing the oil pump..this would be a good time to inspect your clutches..centrifugail clutch arms..also remove the oil filter screen that rest in the bottom and check/clean it.. if it has one.

we were gonna clean the oil screen anyway since there were chunks of the cam cover gasket in the filter, so were gonna flush the entire oil system and put new oil, filter, cleaned screen back in it, and ill have to tell my dad to check the clutches, i know they were still good last time i rode it but i plan on keeping this for at least 2 more years. but till i get this fixed at least i can still ride my dads 01 trailblazer haha

great..do all that now..while you got the cover off..no sense in going back into it later..using up another gasket perhaps..do it now while the cover is off..smart move..thats called using your head other than for a hat rack !..lol.

yep, this is the last time i want to go this deep into this motor..its like $185 for cam and rockers alone, minus the oil pump, and rear end..thos i can get off my parts quad..the cam chain and sliders will be replaced..i think i might buy a 400ex exhaust (i think they fit) while i have the plastics off..

i know your not gonna go for this..butttttttttttt..the oil has nothing to do with the noise..if your motor is making a noise..it's because something is wrong with it..loose timming chain ?..bad rockers ?..worn cam..which causes loose timming chain ?..bent valve ?..sooooo many things comes into a noisey engine..but the oil has no bearing on it..unless of course..your not gettting oil to the top end ??..then this will make your noise.
