1993 Honda FourTrax 300 4x4
Just picked this thing up last night and it had sat for a while. Cleaned carb and got it running took it for a short ride and ran fine. Got back on it half hour later tried to start it and it wouldn’t. Checked that it wasn’t in gear and noticed that the shift pedal was loose. I can move it up and down with ease and all that happens is clicking inside. What did I break and need to do to fix it? TIA

There’s supposed to be a bolt on the lever that tightens the lever splines to the shift shaft splines. Has to be there or you’ll strip the shift shaft splines and that’s big job

I have that tightened. I first thought it was that and it originally fixed it. Now it only shift into 2 gears and then acts like that’s all it has. It won’t start since it won’t go into nutueral. I think I could be something internally. I’m just not sure what.
