Hi All -

My quad has started to slip gears on me (also is hard to shift). I changed the oil, using the Honda oil (without friction modifiers) and have adjusted the clutch adjustment, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. What's the likely cause? Worn clutch plates / springs? Is this a difficult repair?

Thanks for the help.

Yeah, the clutch fiber discs need to be replaced. Also, replacing the springs is a good ideal. I don't really consider it too difficult to repair, but I have done it a bunch of times. A good repair manual would help you a lot. Make sure to soak the new fiber discs in new Honda GN4 oil, before installing them.

Any recomendations on the manufacturer? Honda or aftermarket?
I don't know about that. I always just got the Honda parts. Maybe someone else can answer that.
