hi all!new to forum, very helpful.was wondering if any one has attemptedto add front/rear shocks to '88 trx 125?bought one in mint condition.just a little rough for young son to ride.i have shop/welder access.thanks.
I've never seen that attempted. You would have to completely design the suspension setup, starting from scratch and I don't think that would be an easy job. The frame would even have to be altered.
yeah..it won't be an easy job..thats for sure..seeing how they made the frame a solid frame from front to back..it's not going to be easy to fab shocks onto it at all..if it were me..i'd just let some air out of the tires..this at least will give a smoother ride.
sound like it would be better to let the air out of the tires.i put 32 psi in the front tires of my 86 foretrax 250 and yes it didnot turn withe so much air it just pushed so i checked the psi that honda recomneds for my atv and it was like 9 psi in front and 7 psi in rear seams to low so i have the front at 15 to 20 and the rear deponds on the treane.
Recommended tire pressure for the 1986 Fourtrax 250 utility ATV is 3 pounds in the front tire and 2.2 pounds in the rear tire. This is straight out of the 1986 Fourtrax 250 owner's manual.
yea 15 to 20 pounds is pretty high. i run 3 in the rear and about 4 in the front on my 84 trx200 which has the same tires as the 250. but on your 125 it would probably be better to just to let air out of the tires or you could just sell it and get trx 90. it wouldn't have near the power as the 125 but it does have suspension.
