Hi all. First post here. I bought a trx250x recently and went for the first long ride today. nothing crazy hard or fast as I had my kid with me. The quad seemed like it was starving for fuel then died. Removed cap and checked fuel was ok. I switched to reserve and no change. Switched back to normal and fired up. Drove for another 5-10 minutes and happened again. Let it cool down a touch and she would fire, this time it died quicker. Pulled the plug and it seems nice and light brown. Going to change it anyway due to not knowing the age. any help would be appreciated

Air filter was just cleaned and oiled (uni-filter). I was thinking about a plugged petcock screen. I will pull it out and see in a couple of days as the machine is at a friends house. I also pulled the coil off and will test it.

If you have any other fuel filters on that machine, make sure you check them. How old is your gas, is it fresh?

Agreed^^^^ Also you may want to check for exhaust restrictions if you have the stock exhaust on.
