Hi guys. I was changing out my front disk pads today due to the quad is not stopping **** it used to. Well I noticed that when used or new pads are on calipers, and caliper is on the brake rotor, when I apply the brakes, the inner pad is square to the rotor-the correct contact, but the outter pad is cocked where only partail pad contact is tacking place-it's almost like I need a spacer near the mid to lower end of pad, to make the pad pull in square to the rotor-I did make a spacer for the rear caliper months ago to correct the rear caliper with the same issue but I never really paid attention that way to the front calipers. Any help out there-what am I missing? Thanks guys.....

your calipers are not free floating, find the allen head bolt heads..should be 2 of them..break them loose..take your calipier apart.clean these bolts really good..grease them. put back together..should work..by the way..this is what was wrong with your rear calipers..lol.

caliper

Should'nt the outter two tangs on the caliper, support the back of the brake pad, cause mine are not touching by almost an 1/8". Those two tangs have to be supporting right?

they support the whole caliper..what you don't see is..the main part of it is what moves. you have a total of 4 bolts..two of them mount the caliper to the frame..the other 2 let the caliper slide out when you push on the brakes..they act just like disk brakes on a car/truck...same set up..just alot samller. remove the rubber caps from the allen head bolts..take the bolts all the way out..clean them up real good..grease them..put it back together..your brakes should work like new again.
