Hi all, been looking around the forums off and on for awhile.

Just bought myself another Fourtrax to ride while I very slowly do my ground up restoration on my others.

Just picked this one up Friday 6/9/17 for 300$ had top end rebuilt last year and all he wanted was the money he had in the parts. Couldn't pass up saving the old tank from a
fate of mudding and future abuse. ^.^

Checking and changing the fluids first and came across a mess in the front Diff. See pictures. First is the rear which seems pretty decent.

The other is the front, looks like someone put a few handfulls of dirt inside and left it to muck about. Question I have is, what is the best way to clean all this out? Have the shop manuals printed out but wanted to get a few ideas from this group before I started anything. Hoping to get some ideas and rabbit holes to jump down and chase the right answer.

Thanks everyone!

I would take it apart, clean, inspect, replace all bearings and seals if it were me. Not a terribly difficult job. Not sure if your resto project is the same, but you could rob one off that to get this one going and add this to your restore project.
