Hey guys! So the wheeler is running great! I've been riding it every day and enjoying the heck out of it as usual. Does any company make a synthetic oil with an sj rating? I've found a couple that say they are good for use in motorcycles but I wanted to run it by you guys first. I REALLY don't wanna guess with something as important as oil. I just like the idea of the higher temp rating of synthetic. I've measured my oil temp after riding and the hottest it's been is 183°f. They say hotter than 165°f will start breaking down the impurities in conventional oil. Thanks in advance for your advice!

I run full synthetic in all my atvs and motorcyles, run it as is, you'll be fine.

The guy down the strest that owns a shop that builds bikes and does repair on atv's and sleds recommended that I run 20-50 in mine. So that's what I've been doing in the summer. Is that too thick? Thank you for the suggestions i''ll be switching this weekend. I've got an extra oil filter on hand. I thought that thicker oil would resist hotter Temps. Am I wrong to assume this?

you are correct. by standards the way I was taught, thin oil in the winter time, thick oil in the summer time. but todays cars and trucks run a standard 5w-30 in them for the most part, least newer chevy's do anyway :). I run what the cap calls for in my truck, 5w-30. but this is for my truck !. atvs and motorcycles are a different ball game when it comes to motor oil. all atvs and motorcycles MUST HAVE OIL MADE FOR WET CLUTCHES !.

Lol. So I found it at Advance Auto. Castrol Power rs v-twin 20-50 with the jaso-ma rating. Made specifically for wet clutches. I just changed the oil and put a new oil filter in too. It's raining here in Maine AGAIN! It's been such a wet spring. ?. I just took it for a ride and at the cost of sounding like a sucker I have to say that it feels like it has a bit more power. Well not more power but it accelerates a little faster. Smoother. Maybe it's just me. It does make that claim on the label. Anyway thanks again for your replies! Have a great evening!
