You will be fine with 87. The higher octane gas is for the higher performance machines. On my 450 I wouldn't run anything lower than 91. The higher the octane, the more it can be compressed before the gas will ignite. That is why higher compression piston call for it.

I can't run 87 I can get away with 93 but my quad really like 104 racing fuel.

12:1 @ 50 over 87 will run but I don't have the performance so what I generally do is mix 93 and 104 only because 104 is 8bucks a gallon...lol

When you use 87, expansion occurs when the piston is farther along in its downstroke and thus there's more room in the cylinder head. This reduces peak cylinder pressure, eliminating knock but also giving you less power and poorer mileage.

Poor mileage is right I ran one tank of 87 and it didn't last no time I can run the 93/104 mix and it last a good while. that and my engine seems to run a bit cooler.

I run 91 I can get 55 miles out of one 3.9gallons tank on my 450 at race pace. I've never tried a 5th lap on the original tank.

Higher octane gas makes ANY engine runner cooler. That why ppl who boost (turbo) cars use meth injection cools down the detonation temp. = more power son!

it looks ALOT better with the 15s it kinda looks crapy with the 14' steelies on there
