Hi I have a 87 trx250x and I was wondering what other motors can be put in it? I'm redoing one now from frame up and is looking good pics to come. I picked up this 87 as a roller and looking for a motor. Where can i maybe buy a complete motor for it? I need some help with this. Thanks guys

Try GHD Racing on ebay do a store search for them he won't have the 250X otor but a 300EX motor he will have you will need the wiring harness too. They are the same engines but the 300ex has more stroke and electric start.

You can put just about any motor that will fit in the frame. Find a 250cc dirt bike motor. you might need to fab new motor mounts but that thing will haul arse!

A good motor swap is a 350x 3 wheeler motor.You'll need a custom exhaust but it'll be a nice quad.

those trx 250 engines seem to be quite stong compaired to their size. Hope you can find something to put in there!
