I am trying to remove my swing arm bolt with the lock nut on it as a whole. Can this be done?. I have tried an impact and a breaker bar and it wont budge.

I am assuming I don't have to use the special socket to achieve this and that I only need it to put it back on so it can be torque to spec.

Nope, don’t bother trying to undo the locknut, you’ll just take the edges off it or off the socket. I’ve done 3 sets of swing Arm bearings now and every time I have used heat before attempting to undo them.
For peace of mind, the threads are normal, Lefty loosey, Righty tighty.

Remeber to free off that lock but now it’s removed, you’ll need it free to adjust the new bearings.

bahhhhhhhhh..don't need no spec socket to adjust that lock nut, done thousands of them, not needed !. torque the hex down, snug the lock nut with a hammer and punch, call it done and good !..lol.

^^^^ That's how I do it too. Costs nothing on greased threads. ^^^^

When taking those swingarm bolts out I always zip the left side bolt loose first, then work on the right side bolt & locknut. Once the left bolt is loose you are free to turn that right side bolt in both directions without spreading the frame or damaging the bearings. If you find it stuck, give it a blip of the trigger tightening it to break the threads bond loose, then reverse and zip the bolt out. A breaker bar works just as well, its just slower.
