I am in the middle of a build up of a 87 250x. Today while i was cleaning and removing some rattle can engineering from the swingarm i notice a grinding noise in the rear bearings:icon_frown: i can only assume the bearing are bad or atleast need to be removed and cleaned? my question is what are the chances of disassembling this axle with out fubaring anything? im sure its never been removed. ive never replaced the bearings in one so im not sure how hard it is on an axle thats it decent shape much less one 23 yrs new

That's what I did when the bearings went out on my 300ex. I got one of those RAD carriers with sealed bearings and built in zerks and reinstalling it was a breeze. It was around $100 but that was about 7 years ago so I'm not sure about the prices now.
