Hotdoggin my 86 TRX350A up the mountain last week and found her sputtering at the top. I generally ride above 3000 feet and rejetted the carb for hi alt running so I was surprised when she quit at the top. No temp lite came on although the temp comes on before starting. Fan never came on. Hot enough to melt my glove.

Ran it later seemed fine. Checked the harness and found the dark blue wire was disconnected. Shorted light blue to white and fan came on strong. Rerouted the individual connections to relieve some stress and squirted some dielectric grease in all connections. Going to run it today to see if I can make the fan come on again.
Any words of wisdom you can share with me before I go?

BTW I pretzeled that beautiful new accessory bumper getting towed back to camp. Super bummed about it but didn't smoke the engine.

if fan comes on when putting power to it, but not when its hooked up reg ?, then I would say your oil temp sensor is bad.

Yeah that bumper was near cherry.

I could try to straighten it but might be best to cut out the bad pipe and weld in new sections.
I also have another hondaline rear rack with the wire logo cracked needs reattached. A friend of mine does great welding we need to establish how much beer this will cost me!

I might also offer to build him a kegerator have most of the parts.

Yeah she was cherry in deed, goober that sounds like a great plan! I've never seen one in as good a shape as that one was, so I'd for sure try your way first, surly it can repaired .

Well I straightened out the bumper pretty well except for the dents; it's gonna be a leaverite for awhile. It's running right, the cooling fan works now, and the carb jetting seemed to double the fuel mileage. From 17 to 30 lols

Good job, she looks much better! I'd go with sleeves, and the added plus double layer pipes would beef it if.
