Hi everybody, so here’s the situation. My 86 TRX250 was stolen a while back, and lucky enough I got it back with minor damage. Of course though the ignition switch was broken off and until I save up to get a new one I want to just put a toggle switch in just wondering which wires go together? Is it red and black together and black/white and Green together?

Glad you got your ATV back, your one of the lucky guys for sure.

Without looking I can't be sure which wires you need. You will find a PDF of the factory service manual available on this forum though. The back pages have the wiring diagrams in, they will confirm your answers.

Thanks! I figured it out, it was black alone red alone and green and b/w together. Now to work on the rest of it!!

Lol I’m going to need it. I’m not getting any spark now. Could that have any relation to the ignition wires or is it something separate

Yes, definitely down to ignition wires. You must have missed something out somewhere

Green and Black/white connect in off. Black and red connect with the switch on. Just hook the black and red to the toggle and use the kill switch to cut it off.
