Well, I picked up a great running 125 for free the other day. It needed sprockets and a chain to get back into riding condition.
I got the back sprocket replaced with no issues, but the front is another question.

Do I need to take off the entire reverse/gearbox to replace it, or can i empty out the reverse box to get to the sprocket.

I can't find any info on the net, and I like to do these things myself, plus, it's already torn half apart.

Any ideas would be excellent...

Well I looked on Bike Bandit I would say you have to remove the cover and there is a Bushing that comes off then the Gear. usually the front won't wear out quite as fast as the rear are you sure it's bad?

I agree doesnt look like that bad of a job. Hows the old one look? Picture??

I can't get to it to get a picture of it, but by feeling around in there, the teeth are all chipped or worn down. I have the new one, and would rather replace it than have another slipping chain.

I just don't know where to begin. I've had the sub-transmission cover off, but didn't know if I had to take all the gearing out to get to the front sprocket on the driveshaft. I tried to loosen the entire side cover to see if I could get in that way, but I couldn't get it to budge a millimeter. I'm assuming I need to take the guts out, but that is going to be a pest, as I already dropped a few gears out upon the cover removal, and getting them all lined back up and in was about an hour process.
