Hello everyone! This is my second post and im trying to get a grasp on how to find my way around here so bare with me! I will start by saying yes I looked an unless im not using this site as it is intended I can't seem to find a post or answer about anyone installing a plow. I know that there are little to no known plow setups for our machines. However I found this https://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-TRX-...:Honda&hash=item1e6136d877:g:IToAAOSwsBdbqCid on eBay and was wondering if anyone has used it? Also for you guys that say about fabricating one I have a local guy that I use I just don't know what to tell him or what plow is best to be used in a fabrication situation. Any and all help is appreciated and pictures are worth a thousand words to me!

Thanks and hope everyone has a great sunday!

unless you buy the manual lift kit ?, this leaves you with a winch. adding a winch on this model is NOT as easy as you think. most winches today, and even in the past, do not have a mounting plate that attaches to this model. mounting plate was never made for any of these old gals. your forced to fab your own mounting plate. DO NOT MOUNT A WINCH ON TOP OF FRONT RACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Yeah was planning on having my fab guy figure out something for the winch. Probably in front of the fan. What are your thoughts on eBay plow? Do you have any other suggestions for universal mounting brackets? Thanks for the reply shadetree I've been reading and it seems to me that you are one of the fourtrax GODS!

HOW Much snow you planning to plow?
Moose universal MID mounts are about as rock solid a set up as one can buy, mine is 20 yrs old and seen a lot more abuse than a plow ever should and works like new yet
and I would NOT want a 48 inch blade. I would want a MIN of a 56, and a 60 even better IMO

when you angle a plow, you will end up driving in the snow your plowing, packing it down, making it harder to remove, and well can make plowing harder, with less traction due to tires being in SNOW
some info on path cleared by sizes

50” blade clears a 44 ½” path when angled and 60” blade clears 53 ½” path when angled.
you can see the difference when at full angle, smaller one will clear less
your atv IMO will handle a 60 inch blade just fine, IF in very heavy deep snow, you MIGHT need to add some weight for traction, but doubt you will struggle with power to push it!
secret to plowing with an atv, is NOT waiting till snow is REAL deep, plow often, over waiting to do once!
ALL atv's benefit from adding better front shocks to handle the weight of a plow blade too, so heads up on this, difference in weight between a 48 and a 60 inch is NOT a big difference either!
heavier blades ride on the ground better and remove snow better than lighter blades too!

that plow your looking at IMO is a lighter duty set up than the moose too!
way thinner materials all about it!

Great question
I have a 48 inch plow on my 86 and no winch—best way to go
KFI makes the best kit and @Kevnic recently put one on his 87 350. He is concerned the 60 inch plow is too heavy for his machine.

I use the cycle country 15-1540 mount

Appreciate the response. I live in central PA (45 min east of Penn state, hour north of Harrisburg) so we get some sone but not a whole bunch, well at least not most of the time. I will look into the information you gave me. Thanks!

I dont plow, thats too much like work !..lol. i'll go play in it, but I damn sure wont push it around !!. to mount a winch on your machine, yu'll need to put a 3/16 steel plate, wide enough, long enough, to lay on top of the frame tubes right in front of the oil cooler fan, thats how I did it. I installed a warn 2500-S, roller fair lead, DO NOT USE A HAWSE FAIRLEAD WITH A PLOW SET UP !!. check your pm, info coming your way.

I will add this, and again, TAKE as I say it
IF ALL you plan to do with winch is lift the plow blade, you CAN bolt it to the rack, the weight of the plow blade alone isn;t enough to stress the rack out, so in a quick set up for PLOWING ONLY< It can be done
you will HAVE to pay extra attention on your winching IN< though so as to NOT over IN on line and add MORE stress than needed and possibly BEND your rack!
you will also ONLY need a SMALL winch to lift a plow blade, a 1,000 lb one is OVER kill to JUST Lift a plow too!

, you want the lift angle of the LINE to be as an easy of a lift as possible, so there is the least amount of friction on the line/rollers
as its the lifting , repeated lifting , and then line wears and you OVER , IN on the line and will snap it
SYN line tends to bend easier and last a little longer for MOST folks too

BUT if you ever PLAN to use winch for anything OTHER than lifting a plow, you NEED it mounted to the frame
and NOT on the rack!

I am extremely happy with my kit as of now, now granted I haven't pushed snow with it yet. The front squats excessively with the 60" plow, by the way the front squats I almost wish I had gone with a 54". The shocks on mine are original, i may look into a way to stiffen it up, and/or add weight to rear to level it out a bit. The one thing I am not happy with is the manual lift arm, it is 2 piece and the band clamp they give you to secure it together is not well thought out. Also the cable that lifts the plow will rub slightly if you don't drill another hole in the angle bracket up front. I guess that is the price you pay for a universal kit. Not a deal breaker in my book but it wasn't cheap either... Here are some part numbers if you want them

Also, I wasn't endorsing Amazon, it was just to show the part numbers. I actually bought it from MotoXoutlet.com
Decent price, all the parts were there too!
Thanks a million. Im thinking about ordering the 52 inch mount. However I found some footage brackets on eBay but not sure if they will work with this set up. Do you know anything about them?

Yup i have the 15-0090 plow lift-no winch needed

push tube set 15-0070 or equivalent match what did you find @Kevnic 15 inch wide mount right?

Blade—i use the 48 inch blade i know people say go wider but i dont. I bought both of mine one at auction $50. used 48 inch blades popping up on CL.

ok last and hardest piece to find is the frame mount. I use an old cycle country 15-1540

@Kevnic how did your new mounts go on?

Here’s another old thread @Kramer_Honda350

Kramer_Honda350,

In your first post with the eBay link, the mount (15-0050) is the same exact main mount bracket I have, works perfectly with that push tube.
If you go manual lift plow you have to drill one hole, I'll take a picture to show what mean.
Sorry I have not mastered the forum with putting your words in quotes, I'll get it down. Any other ?s just shoot.

Footage brackets, if they are the ones I am thinking of, and mount where the footpegs are, look pretty slick. It seems if you were constantly pushing heavy wet snow the 15-0050 bracket may be the better bet due to sturdiness, but I have no first hand knowledge of the footpeg mounts, just a observation fwiw.

15 inches wide mounts, yes

I was happy with the mounts, but could easily be talked into switching to your footpeg mounts because j had modify my skid plate with this design bracket. Very sturdy design, one down each framerail, with a cross section that employs the mounts for push tube hookup. Hardest part is trying to find the happy medium(34") recommended distance from front of tire to middle of plow mount. I had to fiddle with it a bit but have it where i want it. If you are looking to run a full skid plate(I am not) then you may want to holdout for the footpeg mounts or keep the ones you have.... The bracket and the full skid don't jive.

I have nearly the same set-up on my "96 Foreman 400. I didn't have a problem with the mounting plate at all, but I think it was extra. I used it for a few years and then put on a winch, again no problems and a great investment. I'm still running this 48 inch rig with a 130 yard driveway and 2 turn arounds. Pluses - very reliable and not too difficult to hook-up, you have a winch for other purposes, not much to go wrong. Negatives - push tube underneath reduce ground clearance and are a pain, and a little more width on the plow would be good.

I think you can get a set-up that doesn't require the push tube now. It is all mounted on the front, and it would be great not to loose the ground clearance. With the tubs you only have 3 or 4 inches of clearance I would guess, and that can hang you up rather easily.

If you beef-up the front springs, it won’t squat. I used Highlifter Springs on the stock shocks, all of my 60” plow weight is mounted up front.
