Just wanted to share a couple of pics on my build, that I'm just about finished with. I have spent almost 5 months on it, spending atleast 1-2 hrs on it every morning when I got home from work. But she is looking at the sunlight today.

Hey fishfiles. I just turned over the motor yesterday to listen to it run. I'm using a carb from my Honda Rancher until my Keihin arrives in the mailbox. But it was wanting to flood itself out when I would give it some throttle. I don't have a air box for it at the moment. Just a U-pipe running off of the carb, into a 2.375" pvc straight pipe. The pipe coming out from the front fender is for my snorkel. I bought a cheap, cold air intake pipe off of Ebay, that is for a Kia Sportage. I had a filter on it when I started the motor, but took it off to see if there would be a difference in the idle. Nothing changed tho. I believe I'm going to just wait for its carb to get here before I start changing too many things. But I will keep you updated with it. Btw, she did run and idle with the filter on. I think the carb just needs to be adjusted for the bike, but I'm gonna put it back on my Rancher tho. Lol

the snorkel tube size seems to have effects on performance , also a custom air box could change things --------- I have never snorkeled a 350, I've done 300's and 450 , 1 1/2 pipe works for the 300 , and 2 inch on the 450 , I would think 2 inch would be about right for the 350 especially since the 350D has extra valves so bring in more air ------ I may be wrong but think anything over 2 inches might be hard to fine tune , as I have seen it on Yamahas that don't like big pipes , but every engine seems to have it's own mind on what it wants

I think you’ll get away with your large snorkel riser providing you reduce it down to 1 1/2” just below the fender right into the air box. I’d recommend running an airbox and filter once you get your carb back.
I’ve read quite a few stories on 350’s, some use 1 1/2” and some use 2”, I guess it all depends on snorkel routing and elevation. Hopefully you can plumb it up and have very few issues, my 300 was a PITA to fine tune once snorkelled.

Hey man, you were right. It was indeed too big of a pipe. Instead of disconnecting my 3" pipe, I used Gorilla Tape and covered about 3/4 of the inlet. Right out the gate, she has been running top notch, with no more back firing as well. Man, I really appreciate the insight on this!

I reduced the airflow on the inlet with some gorilla tape. I covered about 3/4 of the pipe, and it has been running great ever since. Thank you for the advice. You saved me money, and another headache. Lol

Glad you are on the right trail ----- when I seen your huge inlet I wonder how that was going to work out ---------- I forgot to mention to you , one way of restricting the air flow for quick testing is a shop rag , fold it over twice and put it over the inlet with tape holding it , let it suck air thru the rag to restrict it , run it and see results , no improvement then 4 folds and so on ---- a friend with a Yamaha who ran 2 inch pipe and ran bad , stuck a 2 inch by 1 1/4 inch bushing in the end of his pipe and it is running fine now
