I resonantly purchased a "85 250 Four trax for $500.00. it needs a little work done to it,but I feel in the end I'll only have around $650.00 total in the atv. I've taken the carb off and cleaned it, man this thing was dirty,but now it looks new,just waiting on my rebuild kit to arrive and get it together. I have to replace all the brake pads,I might go ahead and rebuild the brake cylinders while I'm at it. I removed the gas tank and cleaned it out( was full of little black particles). The brake master cylinder needs a diaphragm and the lid has a little hole in it,but I'm thinking this might be a easy fix with some JB weld. I'm taking my time and painting a few things as I put it back together. Will post pictures at a later date.
Is the 250 four trax a good atv to own?

I owned two of those Fourtrax 250s back when they first came out. They are great ATVs. They're just as tough as the old Fourtrax 300s are.

Oh forgot to mention, I was able to purchase both brake hub assemblies off ebay for only $100.00 including shipping cost.So maybe total of $700.00 instead of $650.00.
